Explosives Precursors
Safe and compliant handling of regulated chemicals – in accordance with EU Regulation (EU) 2019/1148.

Safe Handling of Regulated Chemicals
Many chemicals are used daily across industries – in production, cleaning, process operations and laboratories. Most of these are used for legitimate and essential purposes, both professionally and occasionally for hobby use.
However, some substances can be misused for the illegal manufacture of explosives. To prevent this, the European Union has introduced common rules regulating the sale, possession and storage of such substances. These are defined under EU Regulation (EU) 2019/1148 on the marketing and use of explosives precursors, applicable in Norway through the EEA Agreement, FOR-2024-08-28-2049.
The purpose is to restrict access for private individuals and to ensure proper reporting of suspicious transactions or theft.
What this means for our customers
Aquatiq fully complies with the regulation on explosives precursors.
The regulation applies to products containing the following substances above set concentration limits:
Substance Threshold
Nitric acid > 3 %
Hydrogen peroxide > 12 %
Sulfuric acid > 15 %
These limits apply to both pure substances and mixtures containing them.
