Aquatiq and EasyX enter partnership to strengthen biosecurity in land-based aquaculture
Aquatiq has entered into a new partnership with EasyX to make robotic tank cleaning more accessible for land-based aquaculture. The collaboration brings together complementary expertise and responds to a growing industry need for more standardised, efficient and documented cleaning processes.
Meeting higher demands for biosecurity and efficiency
Land-based aquaculture facilities are facing increasingly strict requirements for documented biosecurity, hygiene and operational efficiency. Many facilities still rely on manual tank cleaning – a process that can be resource-intensive, create unnecessary downtime and place considerable physical strain on personnel.
The partnership between Aquatiq and EasyX aims to support facilities in transitioning towards automated, predictable and more sustainable cleaning workflows.
Combining technology, support and industry expertise
Through the agreement, Aquatiq will manage the marketing and sales development of the xAQ-1 cleaning robot, while EasyX provides the underlying technology, training and technical support. Together, the companies will deliver complete and standardised cleaning solutions designed to improve operational stability and cleaning quality.
“This agreement gives fish farmers access to an integrated solution for improved biosecurity — delivered by a single provider,” says Sindre Rongved Hansen, CEO of EasyX. “EasyX will continue to focus fully on robot development, and for that we depend on strong partners with local presence. Aquatiq is an excellent example of such a partner.”
Part of Aquatiq’s broader focus on biosecurity solutions
For Aquatiq, the collaboration aligns with a strategic focus on strengthening biosecurity solutions for land-based aquaculture. This includes generation cleaning, facility reset concepts and technologies such as Aquatiq’s BioChips washing unit and Aquatiq Cleantanq.
“We have a multidisciplinary team working continuously to improve biosafety for our customers,” says Eirik Bugge, CEO of Aquatiq. “The collaboration with EasyX adds important capabilities to this work and supports our ambition to help the industry combat pathogens such as IPN, ILA and Flavobacterium.”
“We see strong synergies between the companies, and a partnership like this gives both sides the opportunity to focus on what they do best,” says Nina Møgster, Board Member at EasyX. “EasyX aims to build the best robots for challenging environments, and Aquatiq brings deep expertise in cleaning processes for land-based facilities.”
